本單元教學(xué)目標(biāo):

Enable the Ss to master the sentence pattern: What is your hobby? I like collecting stamps. Enable the Ss to master some phrases with “ing” forms: collecting stamps, riding a bike, diving, playing the violin, and making kites.

重點(diǎn)難點(diǎn):

五個動詞短語的ing形式,拼寫riding, diving and making.

Step1: Warm-up

Listen to the song from Recycle 2 “I love going hiking”, sing and do some actions with the teacher.

Step2: Preview

     Say as much sentences as you can. T: I like collecting leaves. S1: I like collecting leaves. I like taking pictures.

Step3: Presentation

     Let’s start:

     T: What’s your hobby?  S2: Swimming. What about you? The teacher illustrates and helps the Ss to fill in the blanks.

     Let’s learn

    (1) The teacher tells the hobbies to his students: I like playing the violin. What is your hobby? Help the Ss to say: I like …  Writing the sentences “What’s your hobby? I like playing the violin.” on the board. Read and spell: hobby, playing the violin.

    (2) Show a stamp album and take out a stamp. T: What’s this? S1: It’s a stamp. Write the word “stamp” on the board and read and spell. T: I like collecting stamps. Write the phrase “collecting stamps” on the board and read. T: Do you like collecting stamps? Ss: I like collecting stamps.

    (3) The teacher does the action of riding a bike and asks: what am I doing now?  S3: You are …  T: Yes, I am riding a bike. I go to work by bike everyday. I like riding a bike. Write the phrase “riding a bike” on the board and read.

    (4) Show a picture of a kite and ask: what’s this? Ss: It’s a kite. The teacher does the action of flying a kite and asks: What am I doing now? Ss: You are … T: Yes, I am flying a kite. I like flying a kite. I can make kites. I like making kites. Write the phrase “making kites” on the board and read.

    (5) Show the picture of the action “diving” and ask: What’s he doing? Ss: He’s diving. Write the phrase “diving” on the board and read and spell.

    (6) Pracise reading: What is your hobby? What is your hobby? Playing, playing, I like playing the violin. Collecting, collecting, I like collecting stamps. Riding, riding, I like riding a bike. Making, making, I like making kites. Diving, diving, I like diving.

    (7) Listen-repeat-read.

    (8) Group work: ask and answer

(1)    Let’s try. Listen to the tape and choose the correct answer.

(2)    Collect some posters and stick them on the board. Point at a poster of a painting show. T: There is a painting show Saturday. I like painting. I am going to the show. Who else likes painting? Who would like to go with me? If a student raises his hand, the teacher says: I like painting. He/She likes painting, too. Point at a poster of a stamp show. T: There is a stamp show Sunday. Show the pictures and point at the foreign girls: Look at the two girls. This girl has long hair. That girl has long hair, too. This girl has two big eyes. That girl has big eyes, too. They look the same. What is she doing? She’s drawing pictures. What about the other girl? What is she doing? She’s writing an e-mail. What are their hobbies? Now let’s read an e-mail. Read the first e-mail in the book.

(2)    Listen to the tape of the first e-mail and tick or cross. 1. Liu Yun is Alice’s new pen pal. 2. Alice likes swimming, diving and making kites. 3. Alice’s twin sister Ann likes drawing pictures.

(3)    T: We all know Liu Yun is Alice’s friend now. Liu Yun writes an e-mail to Alice. Let’s read her reply. Please read the mail and tell me something about Liu Yun. Open the book and read the second mail, then talk about it.

Step2: Preview

(1)    Read the words in card of Part A Let’s learn.

(2)    Listen and follow the tape of A Let’s read.

(3)    Dialogue practice: Where are you from? What do you do on Mondays/in the evening? How do you go to school? Do you go to school by subway? Do you read newspapers in the evening?

Step3: Presentation

(1)    Let’s learn. Write the word “l(fā)ive” on the board and say: “I live in Tongxiang. Where do you live?” Show a picture of a fish and ask: what is this? Does it live in the sky? Help the Ss to answer: No, it doesn’t. It lives in rivers. Add “s” behind the word “l(fā)ive” and read. Show some more animals and ask. T: Does your father/mother/pen pal live in Tongxiang? Write the sentences patterns “Does your pen pal live in Shanghai? No, he doesn’t. He lives in Beijing.

(2)    T: I teach English. Does Mr. Lu teach English? Indicate the Ss to answer: No, he doesn’t. he teaches math. Ask more questions about other teachers. Write the word “teaches” on the board and read.

(3)    T: I go to work by bus. How do you go to school? Ss: I go to school by … T: How does your father go to work? Does he go to work by bus? Indicate the Ss to answer and write the phrase “goes to work” on the board. Teach the verbs: watches and reads in the same way.

(4)    Ask and answer.

(5)    Listen to the tape. Listen-repeat-read.

(6)    Let’s practise. Describe Bill’s day.

He goes to school by bus.

(2)    Let’s try. Listen to the tape and choose the correct answer.

(3)    Let’s talk. Zhang Peng’s mother is a teacher. What does she teach? Does she teach English?  Show the picture of Let’s talk. Listen to the tape and repeat. Ask questions: Does he/she … Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t.

(4)    T: My mother is a teacher, too. Do you want to know more about her? Ask me some questions. Show the cards of Let’s learn and encourage the Ss to ask questions.
